I have noticed that I have been watching a bit more movies lately. Probably because I'm procrastinating from project presentations. I watched the movie "300" and "Dead Silence" back to back on the same night. Between the two, I liked Dead Silence better. Maybe I'm not too into the war movies or maybe it's because of all the much-added-hype of how everyone enjoyed it. I honestly thought 300 was done really well graphic wise but it was overrated. It left me with a "that's it?!" feeling.
Dead Silence is about how a man named Jamie Ashen, after recieving a doll named Billy, finds his wife dead in his own apartment. He then tries to uncover the deep dark secret of the doll and the doll's maker and ventriloquist Mary Shaw. There is a story that if one sees Mary Shaw, one must not scream or she will take your tongue off. It's easy to spoil the ending if I were to continue on with the summary so I'll stop here. Spoilers will be below!
!!REVIEW MAY HAVE SOME SPOILERS!!
This has got to be one of the best scary movies in such a long time! It brings back the scary dolls and childish things we fear. I've got to say this is a great movie from the director of SAW. I love the whole concept of how and why things happened. How Mary Shaw had cursed the whole town and slowly murdered the decendents of the townspeople who had killed her. I also loved that you could re-see the townspeople as her "children". Although it does not make sense in why she would want to address those as her "children" and why there would only be 101 of them. I guess it was an abandoned town. I don't know. The scariest part of the story for me was when the old funeral man decided to go inside the basement cellar to find his sister when it was actually Mary Shaw using her voice to get him closer. During the whole time, I was "No nononononono! don't go in!!! it's not your sister!". But only in the movies, are people so stupid enough to go take a closer look instead of running, right? Overall, I liked this movie a lot. I'm not fond of scary movies but this movie is so catchy scary that it makes you want to sit and watch. It's somewhat original and is at a length a movie should be at. You should definitely watch this if you're looking for a scare!

My first perfume purchase was an impulse buy during the winter of 2003 back in Hong Kong. I was slowly getting into the perfume spraying and had accompanied my friend for her first perfume purchase. She ended up getting Escada's Magnetism while I got the limited edition Ibiza Hippie. Had I known the bottle I got was limited edition, I wouldn't have used it daily and as much as I did.
Limited edition? What's this? Escada has been known to launch a limited edition summer fragrance every year around spring time(February?). The scents are always summery, fruity and exotic. Each limited edition perfume is sold for 6 months and then taken off the market. There have been 15 limited edition perfumes up to this date (1993-2007). Escada Sunset Heat is the newest edition with notes of:
papaya, lemon, mango sherbet, pineapple mousse, icy watermelon, peach, lotus flower, hibiscus, sandlewood, amber crystals and musk.
As I am a huge fan of the limited edition Escada perfumes, I couldn't help but like this one! The papaya and mango notes really come out in this one and when you think about those fruits.. they match the bottle really well. Not that that is really important. It smells like paradise and fun! I find that the fruityness that it gives out can be possibly used for the teenage early adult age group. I don't know where I heard/read of this before but I remember somewhere saying that each limited edition perfume uses one of the major notes from the last edition. I suppose this is right for the mango notes.

Passion Fruit, Humid Mist, Kiwi, Washed Citrus Accord, Dewey Green Palm Leaves, Freesia, Orange Blossom, Heirloom Hyacinth, White Coconut Milk, Sun Bleached Woods, Amber, and Indonesian Sandalwood.
This perfume comes out strong with a very citrusy scent to it. When I put it on, it makes me think that I ate a couple of mandarin oranges. The smell of orange peels is so sweet and great. Really makes one feel extra awake!
I'm not a huge fan of citrus smells so I didn't quite enjoy this new one like the first Ralph. Maybe it's because I prefer sweeter fruity and deep rose floral fragrances more. I love the site they made for this perfume though. I like how they used a "hippie rock" kind of theme for the perfume. The main song "Jenny Don't Be Hasty" by Paulo Nutini is addicting! Check it out!

The colour I bought is not featured in any of the pics in post. I bought the "Midnight" colour which is described as a "navy with silver glitter" on the main site. The only reason why I stayed away from black is that I have too much black at home and plus, I wanted a fun going out party-ish colour to add to my growing shimmer glitter collection at home.
First of all, there is no navy colour in the entire eyeliner. It's not as dark as a navy. It's more of a denim jean blue colour. I didn't want that colour but I guess this blue was aimed for the younger audience. It's still usable though because of it's subtle sparkle. It looks great with or without eyeshadow. I personally like it without the eyeshadow because it gives you that fun "rocker" girl image. Application isn't as smooth as I like since afterall it's not a kohl pencil at all. It's hard and crusty. The product promises that it is long-wearing but I find the glitter runs around a bit on my undereye area which totally ruins my undereye coverup. Removing the glitter is also something. The blue colour comes off quick but it's the glitter that stays in place. And after a tired night of partying, you wouldn't want to spend an extra 10 minutes just to remove all the glitter from lining area. It's probably all that glitter around my eyes because I have a slight reaction to this product. It feels itchy around the inner eye area while taking off the glitter. Definitely not my favourite product from Hard Candy. I would use this at your own risk!
In this scan, the model uses the galaxy(black with silver glitter) glitter eyeliner pencil. She also uses Too Faced Sugar Shadow. I have no clue on what shade the shadow is and what lip gloss she uses either. Although it's not really clear in how the makeup is supposed to look like in the before and after shot, I think this is a great tutorial in how to use the glitter eyeliner pencil instead of just the traditional way.

Smashbox O-GLOW Blush is the best when it comes to ladies with dry skin. If you haven't heard of this blush or know how it works then I'll quickly explain. It's really rather simple. The blush comes in a silicone gel like formula that will slowly adjust depending on your skin's temperature. A very self adjusting blush that will complement every skintone out there from fair to dark. The blush also is loaded with antioxidants that will nourish your face even more.
The reason I mentioned that the the product worked well for dry skin and not sensitive skin is because it worked for me but it may not work for others. I like how it's gel because it's easier to spread out than the average powder blush. Because everyone's face structure and cheek bones are different, it's hard to pin point where to apply the blush. The most common way is to grin widely and dot-dust the blush on the apple(meatiest part that sticks out) of your cheeks. The texture is very much like the Smashbox Photo Finish Color Correcting Foundation Primer. Very silky oily feeling that slowly absorbs into your skin. I don't really like this oily feeling at all because it feels icky. There is also a huge problem with overapplying by just a bit because you'll look like a light up doll. However, I do like how it matches my skintone . It just sinks into my skin and gives me a fresh glowly look. The small pricey tube will last for a whole season(enough for the trend to fade) because you only use 2 small droplets of the blush in one go. Definitely a repurchase item for me unless something better comes out! Blush really has never been so easy to put on!

The "meeting" involves in going on msn and adding a certain contact at 12 midnight sharp. It's really important that when you add this contact at 12, that you stare quietly at the screen for the whole minute because the ghost is trying to connect to you. At first, the contact will appear offline like all msn contacts when they haven't added you back but if you stare quietly for a minute at the msn contact without thinking about anything else then the ghost will add you and come online. NOW WHEN THE GHOST ADDS YOU, YOU MUST NEVER TURN AROUND TO LOOK!!!
The ghost will talk to you first like this:
ghost: what the matter?
you: .... (you can type anything here as long as it's not offensive)
ghost: see you.
The process is slow but when the ghost types "see you" that means the ghost is already behind you and waiting for you. So really, do this at your own risk!!
I don't really understand why you can't turn around while the ghost adds you and talks to you.. but yet you can turn around after it says "see you". I truly don't see a point. I myself would never try this out because I don't believe in ghosts or that this works.
The ghost's msn contact is: ghost@ghost.com
I decided to buy and try Koji Eye Talk Double Eyelid Glue because I thought I would look a bit better with double eyelids. Let me first explain a little bit about the product first. Along with a glue the product includes a mini cheese fork that is aids in the pushing double eyelid effect. Basically, you apply glue on the top part of your eyelid and use the fork to tuck the extra skin deeper into your crease. It probably sounds scary and a bit crazy but it does work. When you think about it.. over in Japan, all the girls do this every single day before they put on their makeup so it shouldn't be that bad.
I personally find this eye glue really easy to use. The glue dries really fast so you must know where you're going to poke/"push" with the fork before applying the glue. As for the fork, it is safe as long as you don't go poking yourself directly in the eye. The whole double eyelid thing does make my eyes look 5 times bigger! It also looks natural as the product promises on the packaging(first 2 words: 自然). I also noticed that the double eyelid big eye look works for people who wear glasses as well. Although you don't see the double eyelid through the lenses, you will be able to see the noticeably bigger eyes behind.
The only thing BIG thing that I have complain is the pain that it causes your eyelids within minutes of the glue drying. It's not overly painful to blink.. it's just uncomfortable to have something pulling your lids up. I've been using if for a week already and usually around the afternoon, I tend to get sleepy because of how the eyelids are pulled up over your eyes. There's also some things I worry about this product sometimes like.. if my eyelids are pulled up so much.. wouldn't it be easier for more bacteria be able to get into my eye? And how many wrinkles will this cause my eyes?

Who are the Pang brothers? They are the writers and directors of the famous thriller "The Eye" sequels. If you haven't watched "The Eye" sequels than I suggest you do before watching this movie. You can read the synopsis in the wiki links linked below.
The Messengers is about family who moves out from the city to an abandoned North Dakota farm. The family consists of:
Roy - a hardworking father who wants to earn money with his sunflower farm
Denise - a worried(fed up?) mother,
Jess - an angry teenager daughter
Ben - mute baby son
The family decided to move to a farm because they are losing money and because of an accident Jess in involved with causing her baby brother, Ben, to go mute. Soon after the family has settled down, Roy hires a John Burwell to help him around the sunflower farm. As the weeks/months pass, the sunflower garden grows and as the harvesting time is around the corner... unusual things start to occur. Jess starts to notice that her brother can see things that are seen with an adult eye. Soon she starts to feel the things around her and that they are trying to tell her a message. What happens next?
!!REVIEW MAY HAVE SOME SPOILERS!!
I must say this first: I am not a huge fan of scary/thriller movies. I was just not meant to watch these movies because I always regret within 2 minutes of entering the cinema. I never knew the Pang brothers had stepped into the American market for directing. I had saw their "The Eye" sequels back in HK. Those were really enjoyable. It's really different from the American ghost stories. They didn't write this story(it's from a graphic novel) so it was pretty explainable in why the movie was a let-down. Although the trailer shows you all the scary parts but it doesn't show you the reason why everything happens. So when you start to watch the movie, you'll be like "Ohhh! I know the ending now!". The movie has the normal scary sound effects and graphics. Parts where the characters look out the window and around things.. something will fly up/pop out. You know.. the typical scary look around the basement type of scenes. Even though I don't like watching horror flicks, I didn't really enjoy this movie at all. It's really flat. Nothing new.

I had wanted to get Fat Chocolate but instead I got Fat Jelly which is a sheer berry colour. You can see in the picture on the right, it is berry pink but in real life it looks like a hot pink. The shine is subtle but still there as the formula is really light and not sticky at all. It almost feels like lip balm with some sting to it. I have read that many reviewers don't like the stinging feeling that the product gives them. I think this is only a matter of personal preference. Obviously and evidently the stinging is "irritate" your lips so they can "grow bigger" for plumping. I didn't buy this product for plumping but for the cinnamon and stingy feeling. I love the feeling of how it reacts on my lips when I step into the cold. I'm probably really weird for liking that.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with this gloss. It's just as addictive as the CARGO one from before. I like how the shine is there but looks effortless. Very natural and not sticky at all. HOWEVER, there are some bad things about the gloss as well. A horrible screeching sound will sound when you unscrew the cap because of the plastic cap and bottom. It is also takes time to get the gloss out. The gloss isn't sticky so technically it shouldn't take that much time for it to drip from the bottom to the top but it does. I usually have to have it stand on it's cap for awhile until everything has dripped to the other end before applying. Good thing is that once you apply it on your lips, it lasts quite a long time until you eat. As for taste.. there is no taste. So if you like cinnamon and stingy plump lips then this is the product for you! Too Faced is slowly becoming one of my favourite lip brands!
