(37) GO GO GADGETS!
Let's say that I've been a huge fan of The Sims since the creators at EA Games put out their first version. I collected all the expansion packs from Sims 1 to Sims 2 except for those worthless clothing/furniture packs they just decided to throw out for extra cash. I love the idea of simulation games and building your own ideal family. It's pretty like a dreamland when you get into The Sims. Once you start.. you will never be able to stop! The Sims 2's latest expansion is The Sims 2 Seasons.
In Seasons, you and your sims can enjoy weather changes through the span of every 4 days. Or if you like a specific season, like summer for example, then you can set the neighbourhood baking in the sun. Ok, so what if there is seasons? How is that any fun? Well, during these seasons a lot can happen. You can catch butterflies in spring, get a tan in summer, build a snowman in winter and rake some leaves in fall, just to name a few. There are many more things that can tighten your bond among the family and meet new neighbours. Your sims will each react differently towards a different type of weather or climate change. The game plays with temperature so now beside your sim will appear a themometer that will tell you how cold/hot they are in or outside.
So now that there is weather and different temperatures, it is a great way to improve the gardening by having your sims be able to build their very own garden in a greenhouse. It's wonderful that the creators decided to allow the sims to grow and eat their own vegetables. Although, the sims can only use the vegetables and fruits for juices, it's good to see the drink area expanding with beneficial drinks for health and fatigue. Along with the gardening there is a new club in town for your sims called "The Gardening Club". A lady will come visit you to inspect your garden every week to judge your garden and reward you with something if it is outstanding. This will make your sims extremely happy for working so hard during the whole year. It takes more energy and time to do well in gardening but it's always fun to earn some cash here and there. The garden is not the only thing that has expanded in this expansion pack, the swimming pool has been improved to have more dimension and some shadows below your sims while they swim in the sun. It's probably nothing for those who don't build swimming pools though.
As every expansion pack, there are new clothes and hairstyles for your sims. This time it is different because you can actually pick the wardrobe for a new section labeled "outerwear" which is during the colder seaons your sim will change into the outerwear you chose before leaving the house. Your choice in hairstyles are also adjustable to match your outfits accordingly. It's better than staring at the same head all the time or having to change your appearance at the mirror every few minutes.
I have played the game for a few weeks already starting with a new family just to test out everything. I like this expansion pack just as much as the Pets one. The whole "Seasons" idea is so fresh yet important for the sims world. It really explores more options and add-ons for this game. Has so many new activities to do and things to achieve. I love the new career paths as well as gardening too. However, with that being said, the constant weather changing may cause the game to lag sometimes because there's just so much happening at the same time. The lagging is almost like going to a shopping district with loads of sims walking around. Another thing I like about this game is that when I listen to pop music on the stereo there are new real-life pop songs from Pussycat Dolls and Lilly Allen, just to name a few. That's probably old news though. Overall the game is a must for those Sims 2 lovers out there! The game just keeps on getting better! I really look forward to when the creators decide to make an expansion pack like The Sims 1 Superstar!
Note: Make sure your pc can support the game before purchasing! You can check the offical site for game requirements. All expansion packs require The Sims 2 game.
